14 salaried PhD positions in the Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts at Umeå University is breaking ground for the arts and humanities with investments in new Areas of Excellence. In line with its support for Digital Humanities and research on Global Challenges, it encourages applications that fit in under either of these headings.

The positions are fully-funded (salaried) for four years and accompanied by a fixed annual expenses package that can be used, for example, to contribute towards conference participation, data collection, international summer and winter schools or other activities.

Successful PhD candidates will be integrated into the Faculty of Arts Doctoral College which offers a variety of courses aimed at refining professional, transferable and inter-personal skills, as well as comprehensive research training. Supervision of thesis work and other training within the discipline takes place in the respective department.

Studies commence in Umeå on August 29, 2016.
